We started our little wolf-pack in 1998 with the
feisty CH Redsky's Strider
Baggins. Like most first time Shiba owners we were eagerly naive, but also
quick studies. Our excitement and enthusiasm in training and showing
Strider
made up for the lack of experience. We survived and succeeded with the
support of our friend and mentor, Carolyn Kaufmann of
Windcastle Shibas of
California, and soon had our first Champion.
After
a year of anticipation, Carolyn graciously gave us her
pick-of-the-litter female puppy, the elegant
"CH
Windcastle's Starlet." Starlet soon let Strider
know who rules the pack. A therapy dog and Canine Good
Citizen, Starlet is a loving mother with an outstanding
temperament.

.In
2001, we kept one of Starlet's daughters, the delightful "CH
Windcastle's Kirameki of Evenstar." Kira's sire, Waka,
is from the Tanesea Kennels in Virginia. Kira is a charming
and loyal companion, with beautiful conformation.
Since
then, we have been fortunate to co-own one of Kira's sons, CH
Windcastle's Evenstar Noble Spirit, "Prince," whose
famous sire was Windcastle's Free Spirit, "Cassidy."
Prince and Myrrh should be ready to complete in agility, soon!
We are members of the National Shiba Club of America, and follow
the ethical guidelines outlined by the Club. We actively support
and assist Shiba rescue organizations, both on a local -- SIR
of Texas and SIRRAl. We also support our local SPCA. As long
time students of clicker training, we work with our dogs in
conformation, obedience and agility. We have been fortunate
in making many new friends and are constantly expanding our
knowledge of this remarkable breed.
We
don't have puppies often, but are available to answer questions
about the breed.
